Your relationship data stays on your device.

The short version

Unfollow Tool is designed to analyze an Instagram information export on your device. The app does not log in to Instagram, scrape Instagram, or follow or unfollow accounts. We do not ask for your Instagram password. We do not upload the selected export, usernames, relationship lists, or checklist choices to our servers. The app has no developer analytics, advertising SDK, or account system.

Information processed on your device

When you choose an Instagram export, the app reads the selected ZIP, JSON, or HTML files on your device. It uses the follower and following records to create relationship lists. The parsed list and your review choices can be saved in the app's private local storage so you can resume later.

This processing happens on your device. The export contents and derived usernames are not transmitted to us.

Your iPhone backup settings may cause app data to be included in an Apple-managed device backup. Apple controls that backup service under its own terms and privacy policy.

Optional export reminder

If you ask for a reminder while preparing an Instagram export, Unfollow Tool stores a small return plan in the app's private local storage and asks iOS to schedule one local notification. The return plan contains the time it was created and, when scheduled, the local reminder time and operating-system notification identifier.

The reminder is created on your iPhone. Unfollow Tool does not request a push token, send the reminder through a developer server, or monitor Meta or Instagram to learn whether an export is ready. Notification permission is optional and is requested only after you choose a reminder.

Purchases

Apple processes Premium subscription purchases. The app reads the minimum App Store entitlement information needed to determine whether a Premium subscription is active. We do not receive your full payment-card information.

Apple may process purchase and device information under Apple's own privacy policy.

Public website pages

Our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Support pages are hosted by a third-party website hosting provider. When you visit those pages, the hosting provider may process basic web-request information under its own privacy terms. SHG LLC does not install analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or marketing cookies on those pages.

Information you choose to share

If you use the CSV export feature, the app creates a temporary file and opens Apple's share sheet. The destination is chosen by you. We do not receive the file unless you deliberately send it to us.

If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message, such as your email address and the contents of the request. Do not send your Instagram password or full export file.

Retention and deletion

Imported lists, checklist choices, and any export return plan remain in the app's local storage until you replace or remove them, clear all data in the app, or delete the app. A pending Unfollow Tool export reminder is canceled after a successful import, when you stop the return plan, or when you clear all data. Clear all data does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Support messages are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Children

Unfollow Tool is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

The app minimizes data transfer by processing selected exports on-device. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, and device security also depends on your passcode, operating-system updates, backups, and sharing choices.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when a material update is published.
